How should I choose good target accounts?

Choosing the right target accounts is key to attracting the right followers. These accounts serve as the blueprint for who your ideal audience already follows. The better the target, the better your growth. Here’s what to look for:

  1. Accounts with fewer than 50K followers:
Smaller to mid-sized accounts tend to have tighter-knit, more engaged communities. Their audiences are more likely to notice and follow you back when we interact with them. Targeting mega influencers (100K+) often leads to lower follow-back rates because their audience is less responsive and more saturated with followers already.

  2. Accounts located in your target area:
If you're trying to grow locally—whether you're a small business, local creator, or service provider—this one’s a must. Choose target accounts that are based in your city or region, so we can connect you with nearby users who are more likely to engage, follow, and even support you offline.

  3. Accounts with solid engagement (2–5% or more):
Engagement is a sign of an active, loyal audience. Look for accounts that get likes, comments, and views that match their following size. A 10K follower account getting 50–100 likes? That’s probably not the best target. But if they’re pulling 300+ likes and comments regularly? That’s a winner.
